I will be making curved panels out of 2 layers of 3/8 bending ply with 2 ply veneer on the show side. Do I need a backer veneer on the back side? I watched the curved panel section of the video but this wasn't clear to me. I'd like to have the panel float in grooves in rails and stiles. What's the best way to make the curved rails and then cut grooves in them? Thanks in advance for your help!

Tony,Yes, apply veneer to the back side also. In the video I put two ply on the front and back. If the back is not visual you can get away with just a single ply. For the curve rails consider making a bent lamination. You can lay that up in the vacuum press too. I would cut the groove for the panel on a router table. Use a 1/4" straight bit, clamp a curved board to the table that matches the inside radius of the rail. This is your guide for running the curved rail over the router bit.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I will be making curved panels out of 2 layers of 3/8 bending ply : with 2 ply veneer on the show side.
