I have now made two different tabletops using a 1" honeycomb core, 1" MDF edging, and 1/4" MDF skins. I would press this substrate together first at a reduced Hg before I pressed the veneers on. On the first table I reduced down to 12 Hg and had a depression of 1/4" appear over about a 1ft.x 2ft. area on the top of the pressing. On the second table I reduced down to 8 Hg and ended up with a depression of 3/8" over about a 2ft.x 3ft. area on top of the pressing. At this second and lower pressure I also noticed very small areas where the skin did not take to the 1" MDF or Honeycomb. I should mention that the Honeycomb fits between the 1"MDF edging snugly but in no way was "jammed" in or damaged before pressing. Any suggestions on why this is occuring and what to do in the furture would be appreciated?

Tyler,Im not sure why you are having problems you are in the right pressure range. Did you get it from us? It needs to be resin impregnated. The solution at this point is to place a thick cover sheet on top. Something 3/4" thick, this should do the trick.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I have now made two different tabletops using a 1" honeycomb core, 1" : MDF edging, and 1/4" MDF skins.
