Richard,Sounds like a great idea. I cant see any problems with it. I have stiffened up edging veneer by apply it ninety degrees to a backer veneer but have never done it to solid.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I have started employing a banding method which I am a bit unsure of, : and I wonder if others have done this. I press veneer to one face of : solid hardwood, same or similar species, then I resaw and mill the : bands downt to 1/16 thickness. The 16th inch bands are much easier to : work with, than raw veneers, and can be bonded to the edge of the : substrate using conventional methods. My only concern is whether the : long term results will be satisfactory, and my edge banding will stay : put. Has anyone else tried this? Thanks!
