I would like to construct the router jig for trimming veneer as illustrated in the "Working with Veneer" video. I would appreciate any comments on the critical aspects of its construction so that it works well. I don't plan on making it any longer than about 4 ft. as this is the current limit of my vacuum bag.

Keith,Three things to keep in mind. First, keep the two verticle 2x4 beams as close to the edge of the router you will be using. This gets the pressure near as possible to the cutting edge. Second, make sure you put a slight bow in the beams so they put pressure in the middle when you clamp at the ends. Third, make the 1/4" nosing piece that the router bearing rides against slightly proud on the veneer side so the veneer will get extra bite close to the edge.Good luckSincerelyDarryl Keil: I would like to construct the router jig for trimming veneer as : illustrated in the "Working with Veneer" video.
