Can I just use a piece of birch mdf and put past wax on it? Should I just go to home depot and get a piece of melamine? What is the best surface or is there really a big diffference between the two. Thanks

Joey,Melamine coated material is not a must, you can use regular MDF or particle board. If your going to coat it I would poly it rather than use wax.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Can I just use a piece of birch mdf and put past wax on it?
