Hi,Has anybody tried to put Styrofoam (used in wall insulation, rated 20 or 30 psi) in a vacuum press? As the atmospheric pressure is only 14.7 psi, it should have no problem ... On the other hand it is a foam, so it's made of air bubbles, which may explode/colapse.If anybody could try such an experiment I would appreciate finding out the results. Thanks a lot.Vlad

Vlad,I have used the 2" building insulation you are talking about many times in a vacuum press, it works just fine and does not crush.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Hi,: Has anybody tried to put Styrofoam (used in wall insulation, rated 20 or 30 psi) in a vacuum press? : As the atmospheric pressure is only 14.7 psi, it should have no problem ... : On the other hand it is a foam, so it's made of air bubbles, which may explode/colapse.: If anybody could try such an experiment I would appreciate finding out the results.: Thanks a lot.: Vlad
