Subject : Auditorium seat replacement

Anyone have experience laminating wooden auditorium seat parts? The seat is a gentle s curve while the back is a radiused curve. My question is what material is suitable. I usually use 3/8 bending ply but these seats are 1/2 thick. I'm sure there is an industry standard. I don't know if 1/8 bending poplar will hold up.
