Has anyone had success with pre-finishing maple veneer with some of the high end paint and glaze look (basecoat with color, glaze for antiquing effect, and then clear coat finish)and then installing it on existing cabinetry that could be oak, birch, maple? We are studying ways to accomplish this without the mess of the work inside the house. We have a great finishing shop where we pre-finish new doors, etc. but the existing cabinetry is the hard part. There are other options out there with laminate "re-facing" but the colors are limited. I have the capability of being able to finish or duplicate any type of stain or paint finish...it would be great to apply this pre-finsihed veneer to the stiles and end panels. The edges, of course are one concern. Any thoughts, experience, suggestions would be appreciated. Tom
