Well, I got my walls built, then I got my shelves built outside of the walls and now I'm moving wood and tools onto those shelves. Somebody imaginative mentioned a heavy list device, to keep my big bag system off of my bench and I bought one and installed it. It isn't great, as the winding is uneven, but the system will work and it will enable me to have a work bench and a 4' X 8' bag permenantly set up. I did have to make an adjustment. I figured that I'd have to leave a port in my wall, to slide the veneer sandwich into the bag, so I left some space between shelves without wall board and no studs either. I put a support too far in from the door to allow for larger plates to slip through, so I'm working on an idea to eliminate it. I'm not settled on one yet. My top shelf is for 8 foot boards, so they don't fit on the shelf too easily. Another support might hinder the use of that shelf. I could cut a slot into my load bearing beam, but that isn't usually adviseable. I'll shoot a pic to show you in my next post.
Whomever gave me the idea for the heavy lift, thank you so much. I'm gonna love it. I just might have to move my lathes out into my garage shop again, to keep the dust down tough, so I'm not married to my set-up.
