I bought a vacuum pressing system from Woodcraft this weekend and veneered 4 test pieces and all seem to adhere wonderfully. Two test pieces were curly walnut, one was curly maple and the last was birch. I used 1/4" hardboard for a substrate and Titebond glue on two, Urea on one and liquid hide glue on the last. These were test pieces 8" x 14" and came out great, I guess they will become tops for some trinket boxes.
I just cant believe the difference the vacuum bags made.
