Subject : Frank, Ruhlmann style legs

I am interested to know the "best" way to construct and attach a Ruhlmann style fuseau a facettes leg. Since 3/4ths of the leg is outside the carcass, it appears to be a weak connection, yet it is used on heavy pieces. The second part of this question (more related to this forum) is how one can most easily make the fine inlayed lines where the facets of the leg meet? There is also another style of leg, prismatic in cross section, which has a small ivory scroll at the top of the outer corner, flowing into long gently swelling - then tapering line. On some models this inlay actually "cuts" through the sabots, ending at the floor - a beautiful touch. I'm not trying to make a Ruhlmann reproduction, but any answers to these questions would really help with some other projects.Thank you all for making this a great forum,Jon
