Subject : Chessboard edge

Frank, I am having a slight problem with getting an edge successfully glued on my latest chessboard. After I remove the clamps and start to cut off the excess I am getting a lot of chipping. As I recall from your class you used the veneer saw to do this..right? I continued the chessboard to edge so what I have is 2 inch segments of Birds Eye Maple and Walnut Burl. Any thoughts as to why this is happening?ThanksJim
