Frank, I am using system 3 epoxy to glue curved laminate glue ups shaped like a half guitar in the vacuum bag. The outside layer is Brazilian Rosewood (from Flamingo) and the inside is Mahogany. Of course on the outside there is bleed through. I used "peel ply" which is a teflon coated fabric next to the Rosewood and then bleeder cloth. This worked very well to absorb the excess resin and it was easy to peel off. Now The rosewood is left with splotches where the resin bled through, this is after I scraped all the residual resin. My question is, will these splotches dissapear when I apply the finish which will probably be shellac (french polish) or maybe I'll use Nitro lacquer? Also, I will need to fill the pores preferrably with a dark paste of some sort, maybe acrylic or even pumice as in french polishing. If the pores in some areas are filled with resin, will this be very noticable? BTW I love the Brazilial Rosewood from Flamingo Frank! I'll send you a photo of my guitar when I am finished.
