I've just found this forum and notice a couple of things absent , but perhaps previously covered.I used to produce 27 foot catamaran sailboats using honeycomb and prepreg epoxy cloth. Each layup was 27 feet long,in a female mold, with a cross section of about 4 ' x 5'. We used an air compressor for our vacuum pump, just connecting at the air intake of the pump. Worked for several years with no problems. To layup was cured in an oven at 250 degrees F, and when there was a bag leak we had to enter the hot oven and work fast. Lots of clothes and gloves, and stand on sides of our shoes. We used a stethescope to quickly "hear" the leak, slapped a glob of goo on it, and got out of there quickly. After this, bagging veneer is a piece of cake. Learning lots here.Van
