Subject : Structural veneer on chair legs

I built a replica of a Kem Weber 'Air Line' chair (I'll try to attach a pic), which is a very unique design that uses a thick veneer as a structural element, running from the 'foot' of the chair, up the front of the leg, and around the armrest. I accomplished this with traditional clamps with decent results, but I'm hoping my recently purchased Vacupress will do it better when I build another of these chairs. But I'm wondering how to go about pressing such a unique form- it's sort of a 'C' shape, and the veneer needs to attach to the edge diameter of the 'C', and not the face. I've indicated that with a green line.
