I'm building a table using shop-sawn veneer, with Unibond 800 as the veneer glue. I'm planning to lay up the top up over 3/4 in. MDF, based on MDF's flatness and availability. I've seen advice to scuff sand the MDF surface for best adhesion. Is this in fact necessary, or at least beneficial? An experiment with a small piece of veneer and MDF produced a tenacious bond even without sanding. But I'm a newbie to this and don't want to make a mistake.
