I want to use some leftover maple, cherry, or oak g2s particle core to veneer over a custom veneer piece (~20 x 26) My question is does grain direction matter. The veneer is some kind of burl or quilted pattern. this inside piece will be bordered by a banding (quartered) that is perpendicular to the quilted piece along each 4 edges. Or should I consider buying PC or mdf? I really wanted to do this today if anyone is out there.
