So I'm a first time Ziricote user. I have admired it for years and finally have a chance to use it! I did sample pressings and then sprayed them with non yellowing, clear conversion varnish. They are now very dark even with the clear varnish,to dark!? All the pictures I've seen of this wood seem to be just beautiful and rich looking. Is it possible that a water based finish would be the answer? Any thoughts or suggestions?
