Dear Douglas,If any part of the veneering process is hard to get into without spending a chunk of money, its the jointing of veneer. Aside from the simple hand tools or some homemade jig there is no reasonably price tool or machine for the job. Some people use the sliding table of their table saw, if they have one, but most have some variation on the clamping the veneer between two boards and routing. I have never seen a hand made guillotine and would doubt it would be practical to make one.Im afraid there are no easy answers on this one unless you have $10,000 or more to spend.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I have a variety of ways to joint veneer, including but not limited to : clamping between two boards and routing, hand veneer saw, jointing : etc.., but none are as fast or effecient as a guillotine. Has anyone : built one, or come up with a fast truing method for long lengths : (over 6') of veneer? : thanks : Douglas Vincent
